Student Bursary Advisor

Make a Difference to Students' Lives

We are seeking a dedicated, organised and customer-focused Student Bursary Advisor to join our Student Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting students to access education by providing high-quality information, advice and guidance on financial support. You will help remove financial barriers to learning, ensuring students can access the support they need to participate, success and achieve their goals.

As a key member of our Student Experience team, you will manage a range of student financial support schemes, including bursaries, free meals, childcare support and travel assistance. You will assess applications, administer funding, maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with funding regulations, audit requirements and data protection legislation.

What You'll Be Doing

You will:

  • Provide professional, impartial and timely information, advice and guidance on student financial support.
  • Support students through the application and funding process.
  • Assess applications and determine eligibility for bursaries, free meals, travel support and childcare funding.
  • Manage student finance enquiries through face-to-face, telephone and digital channels, delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Administer funding payments and maintain accurate records using college systems.
  • Produce reports, supporting funding claims, audits, inspections and statutory returns.
  • Maintain compliance with funding regulations, GDPR requirements and college policies and procedures.
  • Act as a key point of contact for student finance enquiries across the college, working collaboratively with curriculum and support teams.
  • Contribute to enrolment, induction, open days and wider Student Services initiatives that enhance the student experience.
  • Support continuous improvement by reviewing processes and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.
